Senior Telugu Desam Party leader Tummala Nageswara Rao joins TRS
Hyderabad, Telangana: In a setback to the Telugu Desam Party in Telangana, senior party leader from Khammam district and former minister Tummala Nageswara Rao joined the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samiti on Friday.
Along with Nageswara, a member of the Legislative Council and other public representatives and TDP leaders from Khammam district also joined the TRS in the presence of its president and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao at an event held at TRS headquarters here.
Nageswara and other leaders joining TRS is a boost to the party in Khammam, where its foothold is considered to be weak. A Congress MLA from Khammam also joined TRS recently.
Stating that Nageswara and he were friends from the time they were colleagues in TDP, Chandrasekhar said they would now work for the development of Khammam district and Telangana.
The Telangana Chief Minister appealed to Nageswara to work for the all-round development of the district, which is endowed with rich forests and mineral resources.
