K Chandrasekhar Rao wants PM Narendra Modi at World Congress
Hyderabad: Telangana state Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar is set to go to New Delhi on a two day visit on September 6. This is his second visit to the capital after taking over as the first CM of Telangana state on June 2. Mr Rao’s appointment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi is yet to be confirmed by the PMO. Mr Rao plans to invite Mr Modi for the four day Metropolis World Congress, 2014, to be held in the city from October 7.
The Telangana government has been making grand arrangements for the conference which is the first major international conference to be held in the new state. The conference is expected to be attended by over 2,000 delegates from over 100 international cities apart from elected and public officials from about 100 Indian cities. Mr Rao is scheduled to meet several Union ministers during his visit and take up various issues concerning the Telangana state.
Mr Rao is upset at the non-completion of distribution of AIS officers and state government employees even three months after the bifurcation of state on June 2. He has decided to meet Union home minister and minister for personnel to urge the speedy completion of the distribution process. The issue of the state’s power crisis will also be taken up by Mr Rao. He will request the Centre to expedite the setting up of 4,000 MW NTPC thermal power plant in the state as promised in the AP Reorganisation Act. Mr Rao will also seek establishment of new Indian Institute of Management (IIM) in the State setting up tribal university.
