Vijayawada: The announcement on state capital was welcomed by one and all with citizens stating that Vijayawada was the most obvious choice since it has road, rail and air connectivity and abundant water resources. Hailing the decision, Andhra Chamber of Commerce and Industry chief M. Muralikrishna said that people filled with energy with the statement on state capital.
Describing it as a good decision, he said that Vijayawada has ample resources to grow as the state capital. Confederation of Real Estate Development Authority of India AP president A. Siva Reddy said the people of Krishna and Guntur districts were happy with the announcement. He said farmers seem to be willing to be part of the CM’s land pooling deal on 60:40 ratio.
Exhibitors Association honorary secretary R.V. Bhupal Prasad welcomed the decision on state capital and said that the existing infrastructure in the city should be improved. He said roads should be developed to meet the future demand.
Indian Medical Association Vijayawada branch president Indla Ramasubba Reddy said that the medical fraternity was geared to meet the future demand. He foresaw increased medical tourism in the state.
