Biopic on Brittany untrue, says dad
Bertolotti has accused TV network Lifetime for creating a “trashy” two-hour film
Brittany Murphy’s father Angelo Bertolotti has said that the biopic on her is “completely untrue.” Bertolotti has accused TV network Lifetime for creating a “trashy” two-hour film titled The Brittany Murphy Story, said that he’s “disgusted” at the project which tarnishes the memory of late star, the Mirror reported.
He added that he was amazed that the makers were passing it as “true story” since none of the family members were contacted or consulted for it, and even commented on the casting, where Amanda Fuller fills in the role of Murphy, calling it “atrocious.”
The Uptown Girls star’s father continued to say that he was always a part of her daughter and his wife’s life, contrary to the film which portrays them moving from New Jersey to California by selling Tupperware. The biopic shows Murphy’s rise to fame and the theories surrounding her tragic death in 2009 due to pneumonia and other causes.
