Hyderabad:Senior civil engineer and president of Association of Engineers C. Sankara Reddy submitted ‘A dream capital for AP’, a multi-capital proposal. In the proposal he said that the prime capital shall be located between Guntur and Prakasham and sub- capitals shall be located one for the delta in West Godavari, Uttarandhra in Vizianagaram and other for Rayalseema at the junction of Anantapur Chittoor and Kadapa.
Mr Reddy said, “The capital location shall satisfy all regions. It shall not lead to further bifurcation. It shall be developed on vacant land instead of existing cities and towns. Land shall have heavy load bearing capacity soil to have the best foundation for high rise multi-storeyed buildings.
The prime capital shall act as headquarters for the Governor, Chief Justice, Chief Minister, Cabinet ministers, bureaucrats and heads of the departments. It shall house revenue, home, transport, health, excise, education, panchayat raj, law, forest and electricity departments.
“Rayalseema sub- capital shall host headquarters of rural development, mining and industries. Delta sub-capital shall be HQ of agriculture and irrigation and Uttarandhra sub-capital shall be the headquarters for tribal welfare, fisheries and tourism,” said Sankara Reddy. He also asked to rename the state as ‘Andhra Seema’ or ‘Seemandhra’.
