Interim President Shivlal Yadav mum on BCCI Annual General Body Meeting

The Board will have to call a working committee meeting by giving a notice of seven days
CHENNAI: The hottest topic in Indian cricket is the impending annual general body meeting of the Board of Control for Cricket in India. As the supreme court on Monday refused to reinstate N. Srinivasan as BCCI president and gave two-month extension to the Mukul Mudgal’s committee to submit the final report in the spot-fixing scandal, the board officials are in a quandary over calling for the AGM.
The Board will have to call a working committee meeting by giving a notice of seven days before convening the AGM with another notice of 14 days. As per BCCI’s rotation policy, it will be East Zone’s term to propose and second a candidate for the president post and Srinivasan seems to be keen on getting elected again.
While BCCI interim-president Shivlal Yadav on Tuesday dodged the question on the meeting saying it was not the appropriate forum to discuss BCCI matters in a partnership announcement, another official said he was clueless about the AGM. “As of now, we haven’t got any notice,” he said.
It may be recalled that Yadav in a recent function to felicitate Srinivasan for becoming the ICC chairman had said he was looking forward to hand over the reins to the Tamil Nadu strongman.
