Telugu Desam leader booked for ‘defaming’ K Chandrasekhar Rao
Hyderabad: Banjara Hills police has booked a case against Telugu Desam leader A. Revanth Reddy for making allegations of corruption against Telangana State Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao.
The police has registered an FIR against Mr Reddy on charges of insulting the Chief Minister.
A Telangana State advocate had earlier approached the court against Mr Reddy’s statement about the Chief Minister, accusing him of taking bribes from college managements.
“We have booked a case against the Mr Revant Reddy following the court order. An investigation has been launched in this regard,” said a police official from Banjara Hills.
In his complaint, the petitioner had stated that Mr Reddy’s accusation that Mr Rao is corrupt is baseless, and an insult to the CM.
Mr Reddy had accused Mr Rao of receiving crores of rupees as bribe from engineering college and medical college managements and hiking fees for the management and NRI seats in the colleges.
