Watch: A conversation with the 'Finding Fanny' team
Hyderabad: The Bollywood film Finding Fanny’s lead actors, Deepika Padukone and Arjun Kapoor, along with director Homi Adajania visited the Hyderabad office of Deccan Chronicle on Tuesday September 2 for an interaction with winners of an online contest and a round table with the staff. The five winners — Amit Kabra, Harita Pushpa, Karishma Asoosani, Vinay Kalyankar and Maliha Ahmed, all from Hyderabad — were selected through an online contest that asked readers for a write-up on ‘How far have you gone to bring back lost love’.
“The last time Deepika was in Hyderabad, I waited hours and hours to catch a glimpse of her, outside a star hotel. I never did get to see her… but now, I finally got the opportunity,” said 18-year-old Amit Kabra, from Nanakramguda.

Deepika, Arjun and Adajania regaled DC’s newsroom with tales from their Goa shoot and explained why Finding Fanny would be a little “different” from the usual Bollywood films this year. The stars also spent time patiently answering the several questions that came their way — Arjun was especially fun, joking about his love for food as he gulped down cupcake after cupcake.
“I’m a foodie first... and I love eating,” he said as the main bay at the DC office erupted in laughter. Deepika too, was relaxed and jovial. She was quite the surprise for those settling down for another news-filled day.
“First of all, I must say that I wasn’t Homi’s first choice for the movie. Two other actresses had turned down the film,” Deepika revealed, adding that she was a little “disappointed” after the shoot wrapped up in Goa. “We barely felt time pass by and it didn’t feel like we were shooting for a movie. I loved my time in Goa for Finding Fanny. After pack up, we would just go out and party.”
