Work to win, not just to compete, says BJP chief Amit Shah
Thiruvananthapuram: BJP national president Amit Shah urged BJP leaders in the State to work hard for bringing in success in the upcoming panchyat and Assembly elections. Work hard, instead of being in the fray just for the sake of competing, he told them. Amit Shah was addressing BJP workers who had come from all the districts, at Thiruvallom, here.
The BJP leader urged partymen to surge ahead by proclaiming, ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’, as he had already prepared a blueprint at the state committee meeting held earlier in the day, for winning 62 seats in the upcoming local body elections to the Thiruvananthapuram corporation. He expressed his displeasure when he recalled that it was unfortunate that Kerala had not sent a BJP representative to the Lok Sabha this time. But Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Man Friday, hoped that in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the State would have adequate representation.
“From Novemeber 1, the BJP will be holding a membership campaign across the country where all BJP workers should carry out door-to-door campaigns in the State to spread the BJP’s message of fighting corruption that the LDF and the UDF stands for. Apart from strengthening the BJP in Assam, West Bengal, Orissa, Tamil Nadu and Telangana, Kerala’s party strength too has to go up”, said Amit Shah in chaste Hindi which was translated to Malayalam by national executive member George Kurien.
He also took a dig at the LDF and the UDF alleging that both the fronts had been trying to protect PDP chairman Abdul Nasar Madhani. Amit Shah claimed that when the LDF decided to protect extremists, the UDF Government’s Chief Minister had gone all the way to Bengaluru to check on Madhani’s wellbeing.
“Both the fronts are playing vote bank politics, thereby compromising on secularism. The Congress being the oldest party, sharing a coalition with the Muslim League itself is a surprise. It is also quite surprising that the LDF had passed a unanimous resolution to bring Madhani out”, added Amit Shah.
