Telangana Rashtra Samithi tally increases

Leaders from rival parties make beeline to join TRS

Hyderabad: The TRS is becoming stronger by the day as leaders from all parties are making a beeline for it.

Interestingly, rivals in districts like Khammam and other places are also joining the party. The TRS, which was weak in Khammam, Ranga Reddy and Hyderabad districts, is slowly gaining political strength through floor crossing by leaders from various parties.

“Leaders from other parties are joining the TRS due to their faith in the leadership of Chief Minister K. Chandrase khar Rao and the TRS government’s innovative programmes and policies,” said K. Kesava Rao, the TRS secretary general and Rajya Sabha member.

In Khammam, the TRS, which had only one MLA in Jalagam Venkat Rao who was elected from Kothagudem, was strengthened by two more YSRC Wyra MLA Madan Lal and Congress Yellendu MLA Koram Kanakaiah on Monday, raising the par-ty’s strength in the district to three out of 10 MLAs. Senior Telugu Desam leader Tummala Nageswara Rao, along with a posse of leaders, are joining the TRS on September 5.

Entry of three MLCs Venkat Rao, Yadav Re-ddy and Rajeshwar Rao has further strengthened the party in the Legislative Council.

In Hyderabad, the TRS has only one MLA in excise minister T. Pad-ma Rao, who won from the Secunderabad Asse-mbly constituency.

Telugu Desam Sanath-nagar MLA Talasani Srinivas Yadav, who met Mr Chandrasekhar Rao on Monday seeking im-mediate reconstruction of the dilapidated buildings of the weaker sections IDH colony in Bh-olakpur in Secundera-bad, might also join the TRS before the GHMC polls.

Mr Srinivas Yadav has been distancing himself from Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TD supremo N. Chandra-babu Naidu, since the latter ignored him while selecting party leaders to head TD in Telangana and in the legislature.

When was asked when he was planning to join the TRS, Mr Srinivas Yadav said, “Not now.”
