New Vice Chancellor takes over at Mahatma Gandhi University
Kottayam: Examinations will be conducted in MG University in a time-bound way, said MG University Vice Chancellor, Dr Babu Sebastian. He was speaking to reporters after assuming office as the ninth Vice Chancellor of the University on Monday morning. Dr Babu Sebastian added that he would take swift measures to conduct the semester exams on time.
Earlier he was given a warm reception in the administrative block of the varsity by the Pro Vice Chancellor Dr Sheena Shukkur, Syndicate members Prof C.I Abdul Rahiman, Prof CV Thomas, Prof N. Jayakumar, George Varghese, Prof Sunny K George, Prof CH Abdul Latif, Dr KS Indu, Prof TV Tulasidharan, Pro R Vijayakumar, Registrar MR Unni, Controller of Examinations Dr Thomas John Mampra, Finance Officer Abraham J Puthumana, members of the Senate, leaders of the staff, teachers and students organizations.
The new Vice Chancellor himself distributed sweets to all of those who came to receive him. He was appointed by the government following the ouster of former VC, Dr AV George for misrepresenting facts in his bio-data at the time of sending his application for the VCs post. Dr Babu Sebastian is the nominee of Kerala Congress (M). He also served as the honorary joint director of Pala Civil service institute, and the director of IT @school.
