Tollywood director gets bail
Hyderabad: The court granted anticipatory bail to Tollywood director Puri Jagannadh on Monday in the cheating case booked by the Central Crime Station police. The director had approached the court as soon as the case was booked against him.
The director had allegedly sold flats, which were built on a land that was pledged to the SBI for Rs 5 crore. After the SBI sent a notice to the flat owners, four of them approached the police and lodged a complaint.
The police had also booked a case against builder Subbaraju, who developed the plot. Mr Subbaraju, who had struck a deal with
Puri to pay back the SBI loan, broke his promise and absconded. Puri said the builder had cheated him. He said he had lodged a complaint against Mr Subbaraju at the Banjara Hills police station.
