Privilege motion against YSR Congress MLA in AP Assembly
Ravindranath Reddy allegedly made derogatory remarks against Speaker
Hyderabad: TD MLA K. Venkat Rao on Monday moved a privilege motion against YSR Congress legislator P. Ravindranath Reddy for allegedly making derogatory remarks against Speaker Kodela Sivaprasad Rao. Mr Reddy had reportedly alleged that the Speaker is a factionist and the House will only run unilaterally if a factionist is appointed as the Speaker.
Moving the privilege motion against Mr Ravindranath Reddy, Mr Rao said, “He alleged that a factionist is holding the office of the Speaker and also that the Speaker is inclined towards the Telugu Desam.”
The motion was noted and referred to the Committee of Privileges by the Speaker. Another privilege motion against YSRC legislator C. Bhaskar Reddy had already been moved in the past for making derogatory remarks. Mr Reddy had reportedly said that the democracy in the Assembly was murdered as the Opposition leaders were not allowed to speak.
