Book case against Revanth Reddy, cops told
Hyderabad: A local court on Monday directed the city police to book a case against Telugu Desam leader A. Revanth Reddy on charges of trying to defame Telangana state Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao. On a complaint filed by a Telangana advocate, the 3rd CMM court ordered Banjara Hills police to file the charges against Mr Reddy and submit a report after an investigation.
In his complaint submitted to the court, the petitioner alleged that Mr Revant Reddy’s accusation of Mr Rao being corrupt was baseless, and it amounts to defamation. Mr Revanth Reddy had accused that Mr Rao received crores of rupees as bribe from the engineering and medical college managements, and hiked fee for the management and NRI seats in the colleges. Meanwhile, Banjara Hills police said they had not booked a case against Mr Reddy since the court order has not reached the police station. “Once we receive the order copy, we will book a case and will start an investigation,” said a police official from the Banjara Hills police station.
