The deceased body was found with head smashed, naked and in pool of blood
Bengaluru: A 53-year-old woman was found murdered with her head smashed in a government school in Jaraganahalli under J.P. Nagar police limits on Monday morning.The murder came to light when a few youth, who frequented the Jaraganahalli Government Primary School to play badminton in the morning, spotted the woman’s body, which was stripped naked and lying in a pool of blood.
The body was found under a staircase at the back of an old building near the ground. The youth immediately alerted the police control room who in turn informed the jurisdictional police.
The J.P. Nagar police rushed to the spot with sniffer dogs and forensic experts. They identified the victim as Jayamma, wife of Yellappa, and a resident of Yelachenahalli on Kanakapura Road. The deceased was staying with her children and was doing odd jobs to earn her living, the police said. After the demise of her husband, Jayamma was addicted to alcohol.
The body bore head injuries, besides burn marks on the right side and on the fingers. “It looks like the victim’s head was smashed against the wall that led to her death,” the police said. “No definite murder weapon was found,” they added. On Sunday night, Jayamma told her children that she was stepping out on an errand and would return soon, the police said.
