Few residents from Vizag decorated the Ganesh idol with Rs 1,00,06,789 notes
Hyderabad: There is no end to the awe-inspiring sights that Ganesh Chaturthi provides each year. The gated community of STPL Projects Limited in Vizag really takes the cake this year.
For a full day last Saturday, the Ganesh idol was decorated with currency notes totalling a whopping Rs 1,00,06,789. For seven days, the idol was decorated with various themes. On Saturday, the theme was ‘Aishwarya Ganesh’.
‘Aishwarya’ denotes prosperity and the residents made sure the Ganesh idol would fully depict that.
People gave money in various denominations from Rs 1,000 to Rs 50 denominations. There were about Rs 10,000 notes of Rs 500s, Rs 5,000 notes of Rs 1,000 denomination, Rs 50 notes of Rs 100, Rs 20 notes of Rs 50. Some even gave notes of foreign currency.
It was an amazing task performed by a dedicated team of 24 people who worked for three days and made sure all the money was returned without any loss to the residents.
