‘Won’t allow Bevco outlets to run as long as ban persists’
Sudheeshkumar said that government should withdraw its flawed policy
KOCHI:The government owned outfits selling liquor in the state will not be allowed to function if the government sticks to the decision of shutting all bars in the state except those belonging to the five-star category, said G. Sudheeshkumar, president Kerala Hotel and Restaurants Association.
Inaugurating a blockade of the Kerala State Beverages Corporation outlet at Kaloor on Saturday, Sudheeshkumar said that government should withdraw its flawed policy. The government outlets in the state accounts for more than 80 per cent of the liquor sales in the state, he said, and added that the same government is trying to close down bars established with huge investments.
“This cannot be allowed”, he added. Hundreds of people comprising members of various hotel industry associations and workers joined the blockade.
