Chennai: Chief minister Jayalalithaa on Saturday urged PM Narendra Modi to revise the Centre’s policy on pricing petroleum products and sought a rollback of Saturday’s diesel price hike.
Attributing the present fuel price hike to furtherance of the flawed pricing policy adopted by the Congress-led UPA regime, Jayalalithaa, in a statement reiterated that the PM should give special attention to pricing petroleum products and revise the policy to bring down inflation.
The CM said the hike would result in increase in prices of other commodities and hence controlling diesel price would help check food inflation.
