Restrictions for immersion of idols
Visakhapatnam: City traffic cops imposed certain restrictions on the movement of vehicular traffic on the Ganesh idol procession route and also on Ganesh idol immersion at RK Beach. The restrictions will be applicable till September 8. ADCP (Traffic) K. Mahendra Patrudu said that the movement of vehicles carrying Ganesh idols is made unidirectional and vehicles must have valid fitness certificate from RTA and have to approach RK Beach through Siripuram, Andhra University out-gate and Park Hotel. After immersion two spots one in front of Viswapriya Function Hall and in front AU Women’s Hostel, the vehicles have to exit from RK Beach in the following the routes only NTR statue, AIR, CR Reddy Square and Circuit House or via NTR statue, Taj Hotel junction, Pandimetta and district court junction.
Meanwhile, Ganesh idols will be allowed to proceed via AVN College, collectorate, Naval Coast Battery, NTR statue and RK Beach. After idols are taken out of the vehicles for immersion, the vehicles will not be allowed to park on RK Beach Road. The vehicle carrying the idols have to move to their destinations soon after the Ganesh idol is taken out from the vehicle.
