Thieves steal gold and cash from NRI’s house
The culprits entered the house by opening the main door with a duplicate key
Hyderabad:Burglars broke into an NRI’s house at Kala Dera in Chaderghat early on Saturday and fled with cash and gold worth several lakhs. The culprits used a duplicate key to open the almirah. Cops suspect a relative who used to frequent the house.
Police said house owner Mohammed Rehman Khan and his family were not at home when the robbery took place. Police said the culprits entered the house at around 8.30 am. They opened the main door using a duplicate key. “They also used a duplicate key to open the almirah and fled with about 500 grams of gold ornaments and cash of Rs 1 lakh. They didn’t damage any material in the house,” said detective inspector Dheeravath Hussain of Chaderghat.
Police said since 20 days the family was busy with a relative’s wedding and many relatives had visited their house. They suspect that someone of this group would have committed the crime. “We suspect an insider. They can easily decamp with the valuables and would have used a duplicate key,” the inspector added.
Based on Rehman’s complaint, a case was registered. Cops are questioning all suspects in connection with the case and said they might find a breakthrough soon.
