Standard gold resumed modestly weak at Rs 27,625
Gold rebounded smartly to touch a high of Rs 27,940 before finishing at Rs 27,860
Standard gold, 99.5 purity, resumed modestly weak at Rs 27,625, but later rebounded smartly to touch a high of Rs 27,940 before finishing at Rs 27,860 against last week's closing level of Rs 27,685, showing a rise of Rs 175 per 10 grams. Pure gold (99.9 purity) also started lower at Rs 27,775, but regained strength to hit a high of Rs 28,090 before concluding at Rs 28,010 compared to preceding weekend level of Rs 27,835, registering a smart gain of Rs 175 per 10 grams.
Silver ready (.999 fineness) commenced sluggish at Rs 42,800, but later recouped to mark an intra-day high of Rs 43,655 before ending at Rs 43,165 from last Saturday's level Rs 43,040, disclosing a gain of Rs 125 per kg.
