Gionee launches a budget Android phablet, Gpad G5 for Rs 14,999

The handset is powered by a Mediatek Hexa-core 1.5 GHz Cortex A7 chipset

Gionee launched Gpad G5, a budget phablet running on Android v4.4 Kitkat operating system. The phablet is priced lower than its predecessor Gpad G4, at Rs 14,999.

The Gpad G5 features a 5.5-inch 1280x720 pixel IPS Dragontrail display. The handset is powered by a Mediatek Hexa-core 1.5 GHz Cortex A7 chipset with 1GB RAM. The Gpad G5 features 8GB of internal storage with an option to further expand it to 32GB using a micro SD card. The phone has an 8MP rare shooter with an LED flash, and a 2MP front-facing camera for selfies and video chats. Connectivity options include Wifi-802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi hotspot and Bluetooth v4.0.

A 2400 mAh battery fuels the phone, and the handset weighs 104.6g and is 7.9mm thick.
