Pak violates ceasefire again, targets three BSF posts hours after flag meet
Jammu: Pakistan Rangers on Thursday resorted to unprovoked firing again at Indian posts on the international border in Jammu and Kashmir, reports said.
A police officer said, “Pakistan Rangers used small arms in the Pargwal area of the Jammu district.”
The officer informed that three BSF posts were affected due to firing.

According to BSF sources, the firing started at 11 pm and went on intermittently till 6 am.
The Border Security Force (BSF) troopers gave a befitting reply.
These ceasefire violations occurred hours after flag meeting between BSF and Pakistan Rangers in the same border area to defuse tensions between the two sides.
The latest firing has forced 1,000 border residents to flee to safer locations, a senior Jammu and Kashmir bureaucrat said.

The Himalayan region of Kashmir has been a bone of contention between India and Pakistan since both countries became independent in 1947. They have fought three wars and came close to a fourth in 2001 and there have been regular clashes on the Line of Control that divides Indian- and Pakistan-controlled Kashmir.
