Sanju tormented the girl every day, while she returned from school

Mysore: A 15-year-old girl, who was frustrated with eve-teasing, hanged herself at her hosue in Mirle village of K.R. Nagar taluk in Mysore district on Tuesday. The deceased girl, Sushmita, was studying in the 10th standard at the Government High School in the village.
Her father has filed a case at the Saligrama police station. The accused boy, Sanju, has been absconding and the police have launched a search operation. The girl's father alleged in the complaint that Sanju tormented the girl every day, while she returned from school. The girl had complained to her father, who had warned the boy and his family members.
But the boy continued to tease the girl, her family members said. Block Education Officer Revanna visited the victim's house and school and collected information from the headmaster.
He told the media that Sushmita was a talented girl and was good in her studies. He also said that the girl never lodged a complaint with any of her teachers about eve-teasing.
The BEO said that he has given direction to teachers of all schools in the taluk to inform the parents if any girl student is missing school. Circle Inspector Siddaiah and Sub-Inspector Mahesh have taken up the investigation.
