Three jawans, five terrorists killed in two separate encounters in Kupwara in Jammu and Kashmir
Kupwara: Three army jawans, five terrorists were killed in two separate encounters in Kupwara in Jammu and Kashmir, according to reports. The encounters have been on since Saturday.
Two of the jawans who were killed in encounters with militants were laid to rest on Monday.
The jawans were killed in two separate incidents on Sunday. One soldier was critically injured in a gunfight and was brought to the Army Base Hospital in Srinagar's Badami Bagh cantonment where he succumbed to his injuries, while another soldier was killed in a guerilla attack near the Line of Control (LoC).
Huge anount of arms and ammunition has been found in the area. A search operation is in place for three more militants, which are believed to be holed-up in the area.
