ASI has not been given as a permanent venue for Independence Day celebrations

Hyderabad: The Archaeological Survey of India officials said that permission to hold Independence Day celebrations at Golconda Fort was only for 2014. Even as the TS government plans to make the Golconda Fort the permanent venue to hold the I-Day parade, the ASI officials claim that it was a one-off permission.

“The Golconda Fort has not been given as a permanent venue for I-Day celebrations to the TS government. The permission was only for August 15, 2014,” said R. Krishnaiah, ASI superintendent, Hyderabad circle. Another ASI official said that if the TS government has such plans, it needs get write to the ASI director general and obtain consent has such plans it needs to write to Director General ASI and on its consent, the conduct will be allowed.
