Telangana Chief Minister's aide, TNGOs chief in race for Medak Lok Sabha bypoll ticket

Hyderabad: Telangana Rashtra Samiti president K. Chandrasekhar Rao will finalise the party candidate for the Medak Lok Sabha bypoll on Monday.

Mr Rao has convened a meeting on Monday to finalise the candidate. TNGO leader Devi Prasad, CM’s key aide Subhash Reddy, Kotta Prabhakara Reddy and Praveen Kumar Reddy are in the race.

The anti-TRS votes may be split among BJP-Telugu Desam and Congress candidate, which will in turn be advantageous for the ruling party candidate in the Medak Lok Sabha Constituency.

All the seven Assembly segments in the Lok Sabha segment are presently held by the TRS MLAs which includes heavy weights like Chief Minister Chandrasekhar Rao, irrigation minister T. Harish Rao, and Deputy Speaker Padma Devender Reddy.

Mr Harish Rao has already been made the overall in-charge of the party for ensuring the repeat of a landslide victory similar to the one secured by Mr Chandrasekhar Rao who won the seat with over 3.97 lakh vote margin in April 30 general elections.
