KCR hardsells brand Telangana and brand Hyderabad to attract investments

Telangana Chief Ministers hawks capital facilities in Singapore, Kuala Lumpur

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Sunday wrapped up his five-day tour of Singapore and Malaysia.

This was Mr Rao’s first foreign tour as CM that was planned with the primary aim of marketing Telangana to attract investments and showcase the new state for prospective investors.

He tried to hard sell ‘Brand Telangana’ and ‘Brand Hyderabad’ to attract investments by explaining the abundant availability of quality human resources, land and infrastructure facilities besides highlighting the investor-friendly policies of his government. He promised corruption-free environment and single window clearance system for approvals.

Government sources said Mr Rao’s tour was successful, as it caught the attention of investors from across the globe and paved the way for huge investments to Telangana in the coming days. Mr Rao left for Hyderabad from Kuala Lumpur airport on Sunday and scheduled to reach the city by midnight.

He reached Singapore on August 21 and attended the conference of Indian Institute of Management Alumni Association (IIMPACT-2015) on August 22 and 23 at Raffles City.

Mr Rao sought investments in biotechnology, life sciences, IT hardware, biomedical devices, aerospace, defence, automobiles, green technology, and textile sectors.

He also met Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong at the opening of the conference on Friday.

Mr Rao drove from Singapore to Malaysia on August 23 in order to witness how Singapore and Malaysia have developed infrastructure facilities especially roads.

He took up a day-long study tour of the Malaysian infrastructure in the capital and the city of Putra Jaya on Sunday. He also examined the Mono Rail project.

He also met the police commissioner of Sing-apore and discussed the security and surveillance systems of Singapore.

He sought Singapore’s help in devising methods for effective traffic management and preventing crime in Hyderabad city.
