Karimnagar: A three-time Guinness record holder swallowed 22 six-inch knives in Sultanabad on Sunday. Avula Kishan, 44, of Chinna Kalwala in Sultanabad mandal, began doing the stunt when he was 8. He had learned the technique from his father and uncle.
He holds the record for swallowing 23 knives, in 2012 and another one for juggling bottles after swallowing 17 swords.
He asked the state government for financial assistance and land. “Sometimes, I am not able to earn enough money,” said Mr Kishan, who has five daughters.
He has been featured in Hindi movies such as Badmash (1993), Dhaud (1997), and Gajini (2008).
