Employment offices face sudden rush

Educated youngsters register their names hoping for the allotment of unemployment allowance
Guntur:Educated youngsters are rushing to the employment office to register their names hoping for the allotment of unemployment allowance (dole) promised by the Telugu Desam.
The government-run employment offices were ignored by the educated youth for the past few years as the government departments started direct recruitments to fill vacant posts. Earlier government departments used to recruit employees through employment offices but the system was later stopped.
As many as 12,950 educated youngsters have registered their names in the Guntur employment office during the year 2011, the number decreased to 10,399 in the year 2012 and these numbers further fell to 5,708 during the year 2013.
AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu had promised unemployment allowance of Rs 1,000 to Rs 2,000 to every jobless person in the Telugu Desam election manifesto.
Further, the state finance minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu in the recent Assembly Session has revealed that the government will start paying Rs 1,000 to Rs 2,000 per month to one eligible unemployed youngster in every house and this statement further increased hopes among unemployed youth.
P. Bhargav, who recently completed graduation, said that Rs 1,000 to Rs 2,000 is useful for the jobless in preparing for various competitive exams. Hence, he and his friends registered their names in the employment office to get the dole.
