Post 'Ra.One', Shah Rukh Khan and Arjun Rampal team up for Rohit Shetty's next
Mumbai: There was a time when Shah Rukh Khan and Arjun Rampal were known to be best buddies. The latter would be on the guest list of every grand party held at Mannat. In fact, Shah Rukh even included Arjun in a promotional world tour and later on gave him a meaty role of a villain in his ambitious sci-fi venture Ra.One. But soon after the film released, their friendship grew sour. It seemed like there was no mending fences until recently, Rohit Shetty roped in Arjun Rampal for a film that has SRK in the lead.
A source told this paper, “Rohit has a script and a role in it that fits Arjun Rampal. Even though SRK and Arjun are not best friends, ultimately, everyone works according to the demands of the script. If the actors have a problem with each other, Rohit has nothing to do with it. But of course he will discuss everything with SRK.”
The film is slated to go on the floors next year tentatively. Besides Arjun and SRK, this film will also mark the comeback of the much-loved onscreen jodi of Shah Rukh and Kajol. Varun Dhawan has also been roped in for a pivotal role.
The source added, “The main casting of the film is done and now Rohit’s team is working on the pre-production. The locations are yet to be selected and he also plans to sit with his writers to fine-tune the script.”
We sent a message to Arjun for confirmation but he didn’t respond.
