Jana Reddy seeks disqualification of Vittal Reddy
Vittal Reddy, defected to the TRS recently
Hyderabad: Leader of Opposition in Telangana Assembly K. Jana Reddy and 10 other Congress MLAs on Saturday submitted a petition to Speaker S. Madhusudana Chary and sought disqualification of Mudhole Congress MLA G. Vittal Reddy, who defected to the TRS recently. Mr Jana Reddy submitted CDs and newspaper clippings as evidence for seeking disqualification as Mr Vittal Reddy himself announced joining TRS.
Mr Jana Reddy also informed the Speaker that it amounts to unethical practice by a member who was elected in Congress joining another party while continuing his membership.
Speaker Madhusudana Chary promised the CLP delegation that he will look into the legal issues and proceed further on their petition. It may be mentioned here that a similar petition was filed by Leader of Opposition in Legislative Council Mr D. Srinivas with Council Chairman Swamy Gowd seeking disqualification of nine Congress MLCs who have defected to ruling TRS and voted against the whip issued by him. The petition is pending for consideration by the Chairman.
