No place for TDP, BJP in Telangana: State Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy
Reddy said Shah should first take steps for demerger of seven mandals in Khammam
Hyderabad: In a broadside at the BJP, Telangana state home minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy on Saturday said there was no place for the BJP and the Telugu Desam in Telangana.
Referring to BJP president Amit Shah’s call to the party cadre to strengthen their base in Telangana and ensure the party’s victory in the 2019 elections, Mr Reddy said Mr Shah should first take steps for demerger of seven mandals in Khammam district from AP.
“Till the seven mandals of Khammam district under Polavaram project are restored to Telangana, people of the state will not accept BJP and Telugu Desam,” he said.
Mr Reddy inspected the Dindi project in Nalgonda and reviewed the pending projects with local legislators and officials.
Blaming the previous Andhra rulers in the undivided state for the fluoride problem in Nalgonda and other districts, the home minister said the TRS government under the leadership of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao would take all steps to end the menace and ensure safe drinking water.
“If there is increase in groundwater levels, this problem would ease. The government would strive to complete pending irrigation projects like Nakkalagandi, SLBC, Jurala and Pakala. The Seemandhra rulers neglected irrigation projects in Telangana,” he complained.
Asserting reconstruction and modernisation of Telangana was possible only by Mr Rao, the home minister said the people have immense faith in his leadership and hence he was voted to power.
Referring to the sensational murder of Sambashivudu and Ramulu in the district, he said the government has sought Interpol and issued Red Corner notice to track down main accused Nayeem in the double murder.
