Congress meet aims to rejuvenate cadre in Telangana

The workshop is aimed at pre-paring a detailed action plan for the party
Hyderabad:Telangana Congress is organising a two-day workshop from Sunday for the party men to prepare an action plan for rejuvenating the party in the region, amidst high dissidence, groupism and lack of unity within the party.
AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh on Saturday said the workshop is aimed at pre-paring a detailed action plan for the party and also to understand the reasons behind the party’s debacle in the recent general elections despite granting statehood to Telangana.
TPCC president and tech savy Ponnala Lakshmaiah made a detailed presentation on the nature of workshop and the group discussions on selected subjects to Mr Singh at Gandhi Bhavan.
However, the Telangana Congress is a divided house, with several leaders forming their own groups and strategies to gain one-upma-nship, few of them already commenced their dissident activity to oust Mr Lakshmaiah.
Senior MP V. Hanumantha Rao expressed his displeasure with Mr Singh stating that there is no use of conducting the workshop without inviting ordinary workers of the party to understand the ground level situation.
The dissidence is further exposed with the AICC reportedly kept in abeyance the appoi-ntments of three DCC presidents recently.
Several Telangana leaders have complained to the high command on the appointments of the three DCC presidents, especially Mr Jaggareddy as Medak DCC president who is a known anti-Telanganaite, before th crucial Medak LS bypoll.
