Bill Pierce has been roped in as the brand ambassador of this years Hyderabad marathon

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Marathon has roped in Bill Pierce, who has participated in 40 marathons and over 250 road races across the world as the brand ambassador for the fourth edition of the run. Bill, who hails from West Virginia (USA) is in the city to train the runners and help them with his expertise on his first visit to the city. “I first met Rajesh (President of Hyderabad Runners) longtime back in the US and he invited me to be the brand ambassador of Airtel Hyderabad Marathon .
I was humbled to say the least and agreed to be a part of it. I hope that my visit to India will provide the opportunity to interact with Indian runners,” the 64-year-old said.“I have had the pleasure of interacting with international runners through our FIRST (Furman Institute of Running and Scientific Training) programs and participation in road races. I look forward to observing Indian runners as they prepare for races, how they approach the race and how the race is conducted,” Pierce added.
How is Pierce going to help the runners of the AHM without his fancy equipments and lab results? “After having run for four decades and interacted with numerous runners from across the world, you know what is wrong in a runner’s stride or the way they run. Of course I might be handicapped without my equipment but a minor adjustment will go a long way in one’s career,” the co-author of the bestselling book Run Less, Run Faster said. Will Pierce run in the Hyderabad Marathon? “I will take part in the half-marathon but am not sure if, I would win or not,” Pierce concluded.
