Our work has just begun, says BJP Chief Amit Shah
Hyderabad: BJP president Amit Shah wound up his two-day tour of Hyderabad with an address to party village level leaders at Saroornagar. Mr Shah asserted that only a BJP government could take on infiltrators, terrorists, anti-national elements and Naxalites. "With the formation of a Modi government our work is not over. The work has now begun,” he said.
Stating that the BJP was not in power in several states, he said Mr Modi’s call for a Congress free India was possible only when party leaders and workers would ensure a big win for the party by winning over people. “I am confident that if party workers work hard for the next five years and strengthen the party, win over people, understand their problems, fight the government, we can come to power (in Telangana),” he asserted.
Stating that the Modi government’s top priority was farmers’ welfare, he said that unlike the Congress government, the BJP government at the Centre had refused to sign the WTO agreement since it would be a death knell for Indian farmers. “When we found that our farmers would be destroyed and would commit suicide if we signed the agreement, we rejected it,” he said.
“I have been here since the past two days and met people from all walks of life. Everyone’s heart is for the BJP. They feel if there is someone who can stop infiltrators, it is only BJP. If anyone can stop Naxals, it is BJP. If anyone can take on anti-national elements, only BJP can do it. People are ready to empower you, it is your duty in the coming days to spread to the booth level,” he added.
