Andhra Pradesh gets All India Service seniors in panel twist

AIS officers were previously allotted to Telangana
Hyderabad: The Centre-appointed Prathyush Sinha Committee for allocation of All India Service (AIS) officers between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh sprang a surprise on Friday by beginning the process with allotment of senior IAS officer to AP instead of Telangana as announced earlier.
The committee last week held a draw of lots to select the state for beginning the allotment process which Telangana had won, meaning that the senior most IAS/ IPS/IFS officers would be allotted to Telangana first and the next officer down the line to AP and so on.
Surprisingly, the senior-most IAS officer, Mr Indrajit Pal, was allotted to AP on Friday. However, the existing Chief Secretaries and DGPs of both the states were retained and allotted to the same states.
