Men trying to rob hanuman temple slit youth’s tongue
Anantapur: A young man, identified as Ramesh Reddy, got serious injuries on his tongue, allegedly after being attacked by unidentified persons, at Cheepuleti village in the early hours of Friday. Ramesh claimed that the thugs had tried to cut off his tongue with a pair of scissors as he had seen them trying to break into a Hanuman temple.
Sources said Ramesh, who worked in a private firm in Bengaluru, had come to his native village, Cheepuleti, a few days ago to attend his sister’s wedding. Early on Friday morning, he stepped out of the house to go to the toilet. He noticed a gang of five trying to break into the temple. Seeing him, they attacked him and fled.
Ramesh’s family members came out hearing his screams. He was in no position to speak.
Police got his statement in writing.
