Google Nexus 360: A concept design
Google Nexus is considered as the renowned smartphone with the best Android operating system compatibility. Google ensures that all new operating system updates and versions from Android are first catered for the Nexus smartphones.
The Nexus 6 is allegedly the next Nexus to make a showdown. However, the Nexus 6 is not yet been unveiled and Google is completely tight-lipped about the product. Market watchers and critics have reported that Google is all set to shut the Nexus series and bring out the Android Silver as the successor.
Various online leaks and reports the have shown pictures and specifications of the alleged Nexus 6, but no one knows if it is the exact look or even if it exists. However, as a tradition seen since a while, Google always releases a Nexus device, by a chosen manufacturer (previously Samsung, HTC and LG), with every new Android version. This time the market is speculating that the Nexus successor will be manufactured by Motorola.
However, keeping the Nexus 6 aside, 91Mobiles has visualized a concept smartphone for the next generation of technology. Though the design and hardware is not yet possible (at lease for mass manufacturing), the concept visualizes how the smartphone, which is completely flexible, can bend around to convert/transform itself as a smartwatch.
The video below shows the concept design in action. The left side of the smartphone houses a removable, flexible Bluetooth headset, while the rear houses the strap. The smartphone itself is made of a plastic OLED display (supposedly) which is flexible (as shown-off by Samsung last year). The internal electronics and the battery is also made of flexible materials, yet efficient enough to last you at least a day long.
The smartphone bends backwards, reveals the straps and wraps around the wrist. The display around the top acts as the interface and the entire smartphone transforms into a smartwatch. On the right side of the smartphone is another display, which can reveal the incoming caller’s name or show off a text alert. This display could be a possible e-ink type. Other features include an internal rotating primary camera (like the Oppo N1) and an old-style Sony jog dial for quick access.
