‘Bad vaastu’ shields Chiranjeevi

Rajnath Singh advised not to shift to actor’s house
Hyderabad:Former Union minister for tourism and Rajya Sabha Congress member Chiranjeevi got temporary relief from vacating his present residence, due to second thoughts by the Union home minister Rajnath Singh, who was allotted the bungalow of actor-turned-politician.
Chiranjeevi, who is staying in 17, Akbar Road, was allotted Type 8 bungalow following his induction in the Manmohan Singh Cabinet as the tourism minister in late 2012. It is said Mr Chiranjeevi got his bungalow renovated spending sums running into several lakhs. After the UPA’s loss in the general elections, Chiranjeevi is no longer entitled to use of Type 8 bungalow, which is generally allotted to Union Cabinet ministers, former Prime Ministers and senior dignitaries. Accordingly Chiranjeevi himself came forward and sent a letter and two reminders to Union urban affairs minister M. Venkaiah Naidu to allot him a bungalow as per his eligibility.
Meanwhile, personal staff of the Union home minister Rajnath Singh, who stays in Ashoka Road, near the Nirvachana Sadan, made enquiries with Chiranjeevi to know when he would like to vacate the bungalow so that the minister could move in.
Chiranjeevi, being member of Rajya Sabha could move to another residence that fall in the RS pool. But the Rajya Sabha committee on allotment of quarters informed him that currently there are no vacant quarters.
However, Mr Rajnath Singh was told by his well-wishers that it was better to stay back in his present quarters and not to move to Chiranjeevi bungalow due to bad vaastu issues. When asked, Chiranjeevi said, “Even now I am prepared to move within a short notice, and I even conveyed this to the urban affairs ministry and Rajya Sabha Secretariat. It is for them to allot me another bungalow as per to my entitlement. Some people told me this was allotted to Rajnath Singhjee, I don’t know whether there is any plan change.”
