Singapore meet: K Chandrasekhar Rao is lone Chief Minister
Rao is the only Chief Minister invited from India to Singapore
Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao had a busy day in Singapore. Mr Rao and his entourage, who reached Singapore early on Wednesday, was accorded a warm welcome by his IIM alumni hosts, and immediately went about his business.
The Chief Minister, who checked into Ritz Carlton star hotel in Singapore with a high level delegation, visited the sprawling Raffles City Convention Centre where the Global IIMB Alumni conference “IIMPACT 2014” is being held on August 22 and August 23, and later visited the JTC/Ascendas office, which is into promoting the dynamic industrial landscape in Singapore and other countries.
At the Singapore Science Park 1, Ascendas designed and built a new seven storey building for long term tenant Det Norske Veritas (DNV), which is its Asia Pacific headquarters housing more than 400 staffers.
It incorporates high standards of energy efficiency, water efficiency, environmental protection and indoor air quality. JTC has utilised new technologies and has created cutting edge methods of construction to accelerate the implementation process as well as to increase efficiency and cost effectiveness.
The Chief Minister was accompanied by TRS MLAs E. Ravinder Reddy and Jeevan Reddy, principal secretary to CM Narsing Rao and others.
On Wednesday, the Chief Minister will meet the Indian High Commissioner to Singapore, the Singapore foreign minister and other senior government representatives to ascertain the latest innovations.
Mr Rao, the only Chief Minister invited from India, will address the august gathering from across the world on the topic of “Telangana—Challenges and Opportunities” at the IIMPACT meet.
