Ganesh samiti meets Home minister Nayani Narsimha Reddy ahead of festival
They discussed the activities planned for the Ganesh utsav
Hyderabad:The Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Samiti had a meeting with home minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy and Deputy Chief Minister Mahmood Ali at the Secretariat on Wednesday. They discussed the activities planned for the Ganesh utsav on August 29 and presented their demands.
The Samithi members requested the GHMC commissioner to repair the roads and take care of water and sanitation issues during the festival. “At the time of the idol immersion, we request the authorities to provide mobile toilets and extra cranes near Tank Bund. Last year, a few cranes were not functioning and we had to wait for a long time,” said Bhagwanth Rao, general secretary, Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Samiti.
The ministers and the GHMC commissioner assured them that there is no need to seek permission from the police for setting up Ganesh pandals, but the cops should be intimated so that security arrangements are done.
