Sudarsan Pattnaik
Mumbai: Sudarsan Pattnaik was forced to drop out of school because of financial constraints. He worked as a domestic help for his neighbour struggling for two square meals a day.
He was inclined to fine arts and every night he would sneak to the nearby beach and made sand his canvas. Starting small, he went on to make great masterpieces using just sand.
Today, Sudarsan is one of India’s leading sand artists and is renowned worldwide, having won competitions across the globe.
