Trains services towards districts witnessed a jump of 10 per cent on Monday

Hyderabad: With the RTC buses partially remaining off the roads, and even autorickshaws and taxis not operating for 24 hours, most people will face major problems reaching their destination.
Air travellers are likely to have trouble with no public transport facility available. The airport buses Pushpak will also not be in service. Also, hotels, small shops and eateries are expected to remain closed as the hotels’ association has announced its support for the survey.
Internet services are likely to be down as well. Broadband internet services company Beam Telecom, which caters to 3.7 lakh customers in and around Hyderabad, has announced that services would be suspended because of the survey. The RTC has announced that it will run operations partially from 5 am to 10 am and 5 pm to 10 pm. As many as 940 buses have been designated for the enumerators.
Meanwhile, for the third day in a row there was a huge rush for public transport as thousands of people made a beeline for buses to their native places. Most long distance buses were packed. According estimates of the traffic supervisors of the State Road Transport Corporation, Monday witnessed 60 per cent more than normal rush. Trains services towards districts too witnessed a jump of 10 per cent on Monday and a higher jump is expected on Tuesday. As per official data from SCR, Secunderabad station saw 64,000 unreserved passengers leaving by trains on Sunday and Monday.
Also, some traders’ bodies have announced that trade would be at a minimum because most of their staff would be going home.
