GCDA laser show featuring celebrities to open by Onam
The show will feature celebrities from the film and music industry
KOCHI: The Greater Cochin Development Authority (GCDA) is all set to launch the controversial laser show park at Rajendra Maidan by Onam. The show will feature celebrities from the film and music industry. The 50-minute show is being readied with the active participation of K.J.Yesudas, Mammootty, John Paul, Ashiq Abu, Bijibal, Shyju Khalid, Santhosh Varma and Sameera Saneesh. The concept of the show was done by script writer John Paul.
Actor Rima Kallingal will feature as the Queen of the Arabian Sea in the graphic film to be presented as part of the show. The final shooting is on at various locations in Kochi. The park will have water laser which is the first of its kind in the country, according to GCDA sources. Though fountain dance show is common in various parks across the country, the three-level combination of smoke, water and video is a unique and innovative concept.
Traditional art forms like kathakali, ottanthullal, thruvathira, oppana, panchavadyam and velichappadu thullal will be presented through water lasers.
Rajendra Maidan is being beautified ahead of the launch of the park. The authority is set to complete the laser park at a cost of Rs 3.5 cr. And it took nine months of work after the State Government approved the project.
