Hyderabad: Students of various colleges were roped in to help in the survey. Mr P. Damodar Rao, a resident of Sainikpuri, said, “They came and took the data. They didn't take any photocopies of the documents. ”A college student who helped with the survey, said, “We started from Monday afternoon as the pre-survey had already been done.” Kapra officials said that as the area was too large, it couldn’t be completed in a day, hence it had been decided amongst the officers that they would send the enumerators to the field a day in advance. A senior officer in Kapra said, “We expected a few people to be at home because of Janmashtami and hence thought to start today.” The enumerators did not ask nativity-related questions. Some locals refused to give any particulars stating that they would respond to the survey only on August 19.
Nauzer Patel of Vikrampuri Colony, Karkhana Road, was on his way out when his friend called saying that the enumerators had come. He had to cancel an appointment at Hitec City and stay at home. “I had to cancel my appointment because if they finished all the houses today, they would not come back tomorrow for the one house they missed,” he said D. Roy Choudhary, who lives in Defence Colony, was at work when the enumerators came and the original documents were not available at her home. "As they were going to come tomorrow, I thought I will do a photocopy and give it to them. But my mother-in-law called at 4.30 saying that they wanted details and I had to dictate everything over phone. Why did they come today when it was supposed to be on Tuesday," she asked.

He said, "The municipal officer called the local social worker and asked him to assist them in the survey. Residents were calling each other to check if they were at home. I too was requested to stay back. I had no option but to cancel my appointment because if they finished all the houses today, they would not come back tomorrow for the one house that they missed."
