Hyderabad: Brokers use data collected from government departments to send SMS and e-mails to students offering seats in top colleges. Many students fall prey to this menace every year. When reporters brought the issue of data confidentiality to his notice on Sunday, Telangana State Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao remarked, “Let them take the data. What purpose will it serve? It’s only social and economic data which can be accessed by all.”
