Man molests, attempts to rape twin daughters

The accused threatened to kill the girls if they spoke about the incident
Bengaluru: A 40-year-old man molested and attempted to rape his twin daughters at knifepoint in his house in Ambedkar Nagar slum under Byatarayanapura police limits on Saturday. The police identified the accused as Kutti (his first name has been withheld to protect the identities of the victims). He is unemployed and addicted to alcohol. Kutti has three children, including an 18-year-old son. The 15-year old victims study at a government school.
The twin sisters complained to their mother, who is a vegetable seller in K.R. Market, two days after the incident. Kutti came home drunk and beat up his children every night, the police said. On Saturday night, only the twin sisters were at home when an inebriated Kutti arrived. He allegedly molested the twins and attempted to rape them. He held out a knife and threatened to kill them if they did not cooperate. Kutti also warned the sisters that they would face dire consequences if they complained to their mother about the incident. When the girls raised an alarm, he ran away, the police said.
Their mother filed a police complaint against Kutti on Monday evening. Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Labhu Ram said that a special team has been formed to nab the accused, who is absconding. The victims have been subjected to medical tests, he said Based on the complaint, the Byatarayanapura police have booked Kutti under Pocso Act.
