Meet is a small step, says Naidu

CMs agree to sort out issues across the table than in the courts

Hyderabad: Following his meeting with Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Sunday, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said that it was a step in the right direction and there would be more such steps in the future.

Speaking to the media at his residence after the meeting, Mr Chandrababu Naidu said, “We discussed the employee distribution issue and have asked both the chief secretaries to discuss and resolve the problem. We also discussed the institutions in the 9th and 10th schedule of the State Bifurcation Act and those that were not mentioned in these schedules.”

Mr Naidu added that Mr Rao and himself had decided to resolve all controversies through discussions, and not to rake up any more controversies.
“If we try sincerely we will get the solutions; by making every issue a controversy, we will be spending all our time on them.”

The Union government will complete the process of employee allotment by August 22 or 23 and if there are any problems then the chief secretaries of both states will discuss and resolve the same, he said.

He added that Mr Rao had requested him to end the AP Assembly Budget Session by September 7 because the Telangana Budget Session would start from September 10. “We have to cooperate with Telangana government on this issue, they have postponed their Assembly Session to accommodate the AP Assembly Session.”

Mr Naidu added that Mr Rao also asked him to give a No Objection Certificate to Telangana chief secretary Rajeev Sharma to continue in his present position if the Centre allotted him to Andhra Pradesh.
