Telangana Household Intensive Survey 2014: Residents plan to film odd queries in survey

We might film the enumerators if they were irked by inconvenient queries: Respondents
KARIMNAGAR: Respondents are likely to capture the proceedings on their phone cameras, if enumerators ask odd questions during the Intense Household Survey-2014, scheduled to be held on August 19 across the state. A few respondents said that they might film the enumerators, if they were irked by some inconvenient queries.
N. Murali, a resident of Chaitanyapuri in the city, said that he will record enumerators if they ask him irrelevant questions during the survey. “I would like to keep a tab on enumerators, while they are capturing data of my family. I may record them using my smartphone, if required,” he revealed.
“Videos can be used as evidences, if the enumerators raise objectionable questions as part of the survey. I don’t think filming the survey is a crime,” claimed another respondent, native of Kapuwada. He reminded that the survey was not mandatory, but the respondents could voluntarily share their information with the enumerators.
It is learnt that many youths, using latest mobile phones with 3G network are planning to film while data of their families is being collected by the enumerators. But, they are reluctant to disclose the reason to record the survey.
“What is the need to videograph the enumerators while they are conducting the survey? They are representatives of the government. They have been assigned to carry out the survey. They don’t want to anger respondents by posing odd questions,” said an official.
